Marina Julia is a seaside resort in Monfalcone (GO) overlooking the Gulf of Trieste. It is a windy spot where the wind blows all year round, making it the ideal destination for kitesurfing and windsurfing enthusiasts hailing from all over the Triveneto area, Slovenia, Austria, and Germany.
Here, a constantly present thermal breeze with an intensity ranging between 12 and 20 kts offers the ideal conditions for kitesurfing, windsurfing, and other sailing sports all year round. The Bora, loved by all surfers, can easily reach 20-25 kts (and sometimes even 40+ kts). Moreover, since it blows in a side-on direction, it guarantees maximum safety.
The launching corridors in the Panzano basin promote outings in one of the best spots of the mid-high Adriatic Sea. Featuring a shallow sandy seabed and calm waters due west that quickly slope eastward, the corridors allow surfers to use foils, especially between April and June, when sunny days team up with an excellent thermal wind.
Marina Julia Beach is a free-access beach. It features bars, kiosks, beach umbrellas, sunbeds, showers and cabins, restrooms, relaxation area, equipment storage, and lifeguard on duty. Equipped with a beach volleyball area and a children’s playground, it is also the perfect beach for SUP excursions to Cona Island and the “Foce dell’Isonzo” Regional Nature Reserve. Last but not least, here you can also find a dog-friendly beach equipped with beach umbrellas, igloos, and private fenced areas.
The kitesurfing take-off and landing area features grass and gravel and boasts a large and safe parking lot in front of the beach. The exit corridor – licensed for use by the Municipality of Monfalcone to KiteLife, which makes it available when the wind is forecast to exceed 10 kts – is open free of charge to all kiters, both professional and amateur alike, who love Air Style, Big Air, and Hydrofoiling kitesurfing. The service is offered in full compliance with all the regulations in force and third-party insurance requirements. A relaxation area and ancillary services complete the “kite area” where it is possible to kitesurf twelve months a year!
